Zona Viva Panama City

The Zona Viva (lively zone) is the name used to refer to a part of zone 10 in Guatemala City, east of Avenida Reforma and north of Bulevar de Los Próceres. It is considered a more affluent district with a high density of bars, restaurants, hotels and discotheques. In addition, a great number of shopping malls and office buildings makes this area a bustling business centre of Guatemala City.

Multiple well-known hotel chains run some of the finest addresses in the country here. In the past decades dozens of new highrise buildings have sprung up like mushrooms. However, this district remains a quite green area with many parkways.

Guatemala City was founded in 1776, after a devastating earthquake destroyed the former Spanish capital of Central America, “La Cuidad de Santiago de los Caballeros de Guatemala”, known today as Antigua Guatemala (or simply Antigua). Sitting on top of three tectonic plates, Guatemala City is spread out in a valley with the Agua volcano reigning on its horizon.

Green House which is a restaurant that offer delicious wraps and salads with a cocktail bar that offers happy hours that most people go to before going to the clubs.

Guru: is a huge discotheque, it has two floors and two VIP lounges; it is probably the most famous disco in Panama right now.

Casco Viejo or The Colonial Quarters offers mostly outdoor restaurants, bars and lounges for a more select crowd. The most popular spots in El Casco Viejo are: Platea, Indigo and Casablanca
